2cc, art gallery located in Long Beach.

We’re very proud to be associated with a community atmosphere such as that of one that the 2cc brings to Long Beach.

The gallery doors opened October 1, 2000 with
its first exhibition, Race, Culture and Ethnicity.

The gallery was established to fulfill two equally important missions.
The first mission is to foster an appreciation for California art (visual and performing), art education and California artists. The gallery has successfully produced new thematic exhibitions every 7 weeks that have revolved around topics that interest or impact the community as a whole. All receptions feature the performing arts. The gallery’s distinguished
jurors have included among others: Carol S. Eliel, Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art at LACMA; Barbara Drucker, Chair of the Art Department, UCLA; Betti-Sue Hertz, Curator of Contemporary Art at San Diego Museum of Art; Ruth Weisberg, Dean of the School of Fine Arts, USC; Wesley Jessup, Executive Director of the Pasadena Museum of California Art; Richard M. Baron, Art Director of Road & Track Magazine; Patt Morrison, L.A. Times writer and columnist and founding commentator of “Life
& Times.”

The second mission is about community and providing a free venue where the diverse people of California can come together to learn about one another and the rich cultures, traditions and perspectives that exist here. While this is important throughout California, it is especially important locally. Long Beach was ranked ..1 in diversity out of 56 large cities, nationally, by USA Today’s Diversity Index. With one-third of all Long Beach children living in poverty and a large elderly population, the gallery is committed to ensuring that all our residents have access to a variety
of cultural experiences. All of the gallery’s exhibitions and special events
are offered free to the general public. 2cc strives to present variety in its artand performance programming…
